Himos’ year-round operation will be strengthened with a million-dollar multipurpose hall, which will include padel courts and a saloon.
The multi-purpose hall named Willi West is, as the name suggests, inspired by the Wild West, and the exterior and interior of the hall will be made to suit the theme. For HimosLom, the hall is an investment of seven million euros.
The building will include two padel courts, an eight-lane bowling alley, golf and shooting simulators, a gym and a 150-seat saloon-restaurant with terraces. There is a total of 3,000 square meters of space in the building.
Ready in spring 2024
Heikkala says that the hall responds to customers’ wishes for the diversification of Himos’ service offering.
– Our main business is accommodation, but it is clear that no one comes to the destination just for the accommodation. We are expected to provide services even for the time when you can’t ski or golf, says Heikkala.
HimosLomat runs Will’s western services as its own operation. The goal is to keep the services open all year round. According to Heikkala, in the future, external operators will probably also come to the multi-purpose hall.
Another good news for Himos
The hall is located in the center of Himos, at the intersection of Länsi-Himoksentie and Haapanantie. It is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2024.
The multi-purpose hall is already another good news for Himos tourism this spring. Himos Yhtiöt said in March that it had signed a letter of intent with Osuuskauppa Keskimaa for a new 120-apartment accommodation and restaurant complex.
