Major renovation completed at Hotel Lappee – renovated rooms reflect local character

Hotel Lappee is located in the city centre of Lappeenranta.

The renovation, completed in a few months, cost a total of €6.8 million.

In Lappeenranta, a major renovation of Hotel Lappeen has been completed. The 135 rooms and public areas of the hotel’s main floor were completely renovated and refurbished. The total cost of the renovation to the South Karelia Cooperative was €6.8 million.

The new rooms are themed to reflect the local area. The rooms have two different local themes. The Paatti rooms are inspired by the steamboat culture of Lake Saimaa. The Pihka rooms pay homage to the region’s strong forest industry, craftsmanship and traditions.

The renovation, which started in November last year, was completed in time for the spring and summer tourist season, despite the tight schedule.

Lappee was opened in 1983. The hotel has been expanded twice over the years. The previous major renovation was in 2015, when the hotel and its restaurants were connected to the shopping center IsoKristiina. Hotel Lappee has a total of 250 rooms.
