The church in Salpausselkä is also scheduled to be renovated. Project planning will start in the fall.

Salpausselkä church has an indoor air problem.

According to the humidity and indoor air survey conducted last spring, mineral wool fibers were found in the air of the church building and courtyard building. They come from the silencers of the old ventilation system and the thermal insulation of the outer wall structures.

In the samples taken from the church’s insulation, indications of microbial damage were also noticed. There was no microbial damage in the samples taken from the courtyard building.

During the coming autumn, the indoor air quality will be improved with temporary solutions. Structures are sealed and sound absorbers are coated to reduce the amount of mineral wool fibers.

The renovation of the church premises is also being prepared, for which project planning will start in the fall.
