Wildfires raging in Russia have worsened the air quality in Päijät-Hämee. At its worst, the air quality has been bad.

Even on Tuesday, August 23, in the morning in Heinola, the air quality was satisfactory. At the same time, the air in Lahti was already of good quality. There have been small particles on the coast of southern Finland even on Tuesday.

The Finnish Meteorological Institute says that with the change in wind direction, the air quality is on the way to improving, although the fires still continue between Moscow and St. Petersburg.
