The people of Kemi are about to have more space for urban farming next summer.

A new small area will be created on the site of a disused playground along Strawberry Orchard Street in Birch Tree Park.

The urban farming project is part of the Kemi Green Project. Residents can rent planting boxes in the area. The city delivers the boxes and their soil to the planting site and the renter is responsible for the planting at his/her own expense.

Apple trees, a small berry garden, herbs and flowers are also planted in the area.
