The management of the site will be transferred from the city to the caravan association. The users of Matkapark will also have access to the area’s services.

The City of Pietarsaari reached a decision on the use of the Fäboda caravan site for the next few years.

The Technical Committee decided to lease the site to the Fäboda Caravan Association until spring 2025.

At the end of last year, the city planned to close the area, but the matter was reconsidered. This time, too, the decision came after a vote of 6-3, with the minority voting not to lease the site until a zoning plan is in place.

In Fäboda, there are 56 seasonal spots for campers, priority is given to residents of St. Petersburg.

The city has previously also established a 48-hour parking area for RVs next to the caravan area. Now this will be turned into a 48-hour Matkapark, meaning its users have the opportunity to use, for example, the sanitary facilities in the caravan area and empty their septic tanks.

The maintenance of the 12-seater Matkaparki will also be transferred to the caravan association.
