Saariselkän Keskusvaraamo oy sells its rental cabin brokerage to Lomarengas oy from the beginning of June. In the deal, 250 rental cabins and apartments will be transferred to Lomarenka’s brokerage.
Starting in June, Lomarenka has 350 properties in Saariselka, most of which are privately owned. In total, Lomarenka has four thousand destinations after this. It is the largest in Finland in its field.
He says that domestic and foreign tourists need different options for accommodation in addition to hotels in Lapinki’s destinations. Through the store, Lomarengas diversifies its offer in Saariselkä, offering accommodation of all price and quality categories tailored to tourists.
– It is important for us to use the reserve of cabins and vacation shares, which is currently underutilized in tourist centers. When the existing capacity is put into use, there is no need to build so much new accommodation stock, explains Kohonen.
According to Kohonen, it makes sense to recycle ready-made accommodation so that the owners of the cabins get additional income, and they don’t have to do everything themselves to get their cabins for rent.
– The owners of the cottages can, with small improvements, put their cottages under our care, he promises.
Lomarengas does not buy the actual accommodation stock for itself through the trade, but through cooperation agreements, it brokers private and company-owned cottages and other accommodation facilities on behalf of the owners.
The rental cabins will be reserved on the company’s partner websites, and Lomarengas will open a new local office in Saariselä. Old employees of Keskusvaaraamo will also be transferred to work at Lomarenkaa.
