About 550 groups of performers from 16 countries will arrive for the festival week.

Next summer’s Kaustinen Folk Music Festival will feature top domestic artists, just like last summer. The party organization announced its list of next summer’s performers on Tuesday morning.

According to the event announcement, around 550 groups of performers from 16 countries will arrive for the July festival week. Almost all of them are groups of players, which have registered a record number for the party. Groups also arrive from Ukraine, Ethiopia, Kenya and Colombia, and they share their experiences of war and peace at the same time.

The Kenyan dance troupe Wana Mziki Afrika is one of the festival’s biggest single performers.

The theme of the celebration is peace, and in honor of that, a Peace Seminar will also be organized during the week. Participants in the seminar can also be received remotely from, for example, Ukraine.

Summer festivals have been organized with more cooperation parties than before, which is related to the fact that violin playing in Kaustis was accepted into UNESCO’s list of intangible cultural heritage last year.

This year’s provincial theme is Central Finland.

The new gaming champions will be announced at a party on the opening day. The semifinals of the Konsta Jylhä competition will then start for the 12th time.

There is typically a high demand for accommodation during the party, and already all cabins, caravan and tent pitches and Hotelli Kaustinen’s rooms in the camping area have been sold out.

A tent village will rise for the first time in the field next to the campsite. There are already made travel cots available. In addition, there will be container toilets and showers in the village.

The Kaustinen Folk Music Festival will be held for the 56th time from 10 to 16. July.
