In the summer of 2018, Häme police searched for a man suspected of shooting on Kasakkamäki in Lahti with the help of a surveillance camera image.

The district court of Päijät-Häme has imprisoned a man suspected of murder in Mariankatu.

The Lahti man suspected of the Mariankatu murder has a violent criminal background.

In 2018, a middle-aged man was sentenced to a long prison sentence for attempted murder, firearms offense and aggravated firearms offence.

The man had fired a machine gun at a serial apartment building on Kasakkamäki. He was sentenced to 5.5 years in prison.

The charge of aggravated money laundering was dismissed.

In the spring of 2019, the Court of Appeal of Eastern Finland increased the sentence to 5 years and 10 months in prison. The Court of Appeal also accepted the charge of aggravated money laundering.

Now the man has been arrested on suspicion of murder for the most probable reasons. The detention hearing at the Päijät-Häme district court was held on Monday, April 3.
