The 80’s log cabins in the centre of Tahko will be replaced by more modern accommodation.
A draft zoning plan has been completed to change the appearance of the centre of the Tahko tourist area. Tahko Bungalows has applied for a rezoning of the area between Tahkovuorentie and Tahkolahti.
There are now six log cabins built in the early 1980s and a log restaurant building built in the 1990s. New modern accommodation is being built on the site and the area is being densified.
In addition, a new planning area will be created on the shore of Tahkolahti, where floating construction will be allowed for restaurants and recreational facilities.
Kuopio’s urban planning committee approved the site plan proposal on Wednesday to be made available for viewing for 30 days. Ultimately, the city government and council decide on the formula.
