Warming weather and rainfall can raise water levels

The amount of snow affects the flood forecast. According to the observation stations of the Finnish Meteorological Institute, on March 14 the snow depth is 20 centimeters in Hattula’s Lepaa, 15 in Jokioinen’s Ilmala, 36 in Lammi’s Pappila and 32 centimeters in Hämeenlinna’s Pirttikoski.

According to the website Vesi.fi, the water in Vantaanjoki will rise from its current height in the next two weeks in Riihimäki, both at Paloheimo and Peltosaari.
