The city’s building committee discussed the penalty and the guidelines on Monday, both of which were tabled.
The Oulu Building Board left decisions on short-term rentals on the table at its meeting on Monday night.
The Board was asked to decide on the imposition of a penalty payment on the housing company Oulun Asematorn and the homeowners who rent their apartments on a short-term basis. The Building Control proposed a penalty payment of €30 000 for the company and €8 000 for each apartment to stop short-term rentals.
The Board tabled the matter by a vote of 7-3.
The same was true of the council’s initiative to change the building control’s accommodation operating instructions. The initiative of three councilors from Oulu proposed changing the guidelines to, among other things, legal, equal and developing Oulu’s vitality.
