The winter exhibition featured 35 naïve artists who are already familiar from the summer exhibitions.
The Winter of Naivism exhibition at Iittala’s old wooden school set a visitor record. Over the course of three months, the exhibition was visited by 2,500 visitors, which is about a thousand more visitors than the average of last and previous years’ winter exhibitions.
The attraction of the winter exhibition was the skill samples of dollhouse enthusiasts. The exhibition featured a total of 20 dollhouses, which were built in various structures, from lanterns rescued from the junkyard, through Lundby-type houses to custom-built buildings and courtyards.
– A simple showbox turned out to be a garage with nothing but a Mercedes Benz. Many visitors who had never been to a naive exhibition before came to see the dollhouses, says Heinonen.

Now, according to Heinonen, the doors of the old wooden school have been closed to the public for a while. At the beginning of May, the Naivisti Iittala summer exhibition will be opened for the 35th time. The Life Ahead exhibition features 50 artists, seven of whom are first-timers.
