American film star Glenn Close is coming to Finland in the summer – playing the lead role in a film based on Tove Jansson’s novel

Tove Jansson’s novel, published in the 1970s, is being made into an international film. Filming starts this summer in Finland.

McDowell’s most famous film so far *The One I Love* premiered at the Sundance festival in 2014. The film was not released theatrically in Finland. Netflix released the director’s latest film *Windfall* in 2022.

*Kesäkirja* is one of the director’s favorite books.

– It is a great honor to bring it to the big screen and to be able to shoot in beautiful Finland. Working with Glenn Close is a long-term dream of mine, the director says in the release.

Close, on the other hand, is a multiple Oscar nominee. The American actor, who has had a long career, is known for the films *101 Dalmatians* (1996), *Lies and Seducers* (1989) and *Dangerous Relationship* (1988). Close has also had a spectacular career on Broadway.

The summer book was dug up again
