Roe production at the new nursery will start next spring.

Finnforel’s new fish farm in Hollola’s Hatsina has progressed to trial operation.

Finnforel concentrates its own facilities’ roe and fry production in Hatsina, where it has built a genetics and fry facility for 12 million euros.

The company estimates that roe production will be underway at the new nursery next spring. The company’s goal is also to sell roe to other operators.

Until now, some of the roe eggs used in Finnish fish farming have been imported from abroad.

Finnforel aims for a significant increase in the export of fish products. The company has a fish farm in Varkaus, which has recently been expanded.
