Eliya Zweygberg’s works depicting animals made from chicken nets will be placed on the balcony of the Helsinki Natural History Museum today, Monday at 12 o’clock.
On Monday, the balcony of the Helsinki Natural History Museum will receive two new animal statues.
There used to be two wooden giraffes on the balcony. Kira and Raffe, the giraffes who had coffee on the balcony of the museum for almost ten years, were moved in the summer of 2019 in front of Sompasauna, because they had become too bad.
Zweygberg has been working on new works for the Natural History Museum’s balcony since June. The bear named Urho holds 1.3 kilometers of ductwork inside. The bear measures three meters and thirty centimeters and weighs more than 600 kilograms.
In addition to the Urho bear, a work depicting a swashbuckler will be placed on the balcony. Huuhkaja is still without a name, and its name will be decided by a name contest. The name will be published on 8.3.
