There are two categories for Finns to be excited about

Finland’s candidate *Girls, girls, girls* did not reach the final competition, but Finnish expertise is still on display in several categories. For Finns, there is additional excitement in the series of short films and long documentaries.

The collaboration began in 2014 at the Sodankylä film festival, where Rohrwacher was a guest author. Cleaning Women performed at the festival’s evening club, after which the director asked the band to compose the music for his upcoming short film. The first collaboration was the short film *De Djess* released in 2015.

A woman and a man dressed in black suit jackets pose in front of a wall that says: Oscars95. The woman has brown curly hair, the man has short gray hair.
Directed by Alice Rohrwacher and producer of Le Pupille, Alfonso Cuarón.

Swedish greeting

Ruben Östlund.
Director Ruben Östlund photographed at the Hamburg Film Festival 2022. Östlund’s previous film The Square was nominated for best foreign language film 2018.

The film is nominated in the best film, best original screenplay and best director categories.

The bulletin began like this: \”Ahoy! My Gratitude goes out to the Academy this evening. Free Botox for everyone!!”

That is: \”Oh! Tonight, my gratitude goes to the academy. Free bots for everyone!!”

Östlund previously staged the video, which received an Oscar nomination in 2015.

If Östlund wins any of his nominations, the speech is worth keeping an eye on.
