Ski schools’ busiest week on the ski slopes is just underway, even though the crowds on the slopes are not at their highest.

Many tourists spend their holidays on the ski slope. The winter holiday of Southern Finns has brought about 10,000 tourists to Vuokatti, and almost all accommodation places are full.

At Vuokatti ski school, week eight is the busiest season of the season. Some of those coming to the slopes are skiing for the first time, while others want to improve their existing skills.

According to Suominen, people from the south buy more ski school services than people from the north.

– Those from the north often try themselves first. If that doesn’t work, contact the ski school.

In Vuokatti, the number of people on the slopes is not at its highest right now, but the need for ski schools is. People who come to the slopes later in the spring no longer need so much ski training.

One-hour or two-hour packages can be purchased from the ski school. First we study the tools and how to move with them, then it’s time to learn braking, turning and slope rules.

According to Suominen, four out of five students at the Vuokatti ski school are young. Adult students are one in five.

– You don’t need a lot of help, so skiing goes much better. You don’t go to difficult slopes right away, but calculate according to your own skill level, advises Hentunen.

Both girls have now attended ski school, learned to ski and use the chair lift. Kaisla sums up what she learned succinctly.
