Hiukkafest, which was organized for the first time last year, will be held for two days this year.
Eemeli Vaara has practiced playing in the old barracks building in Hiukkavaara since she was a teenager, and she says that this also had a significant impact on the decision to establish the festival in Hiukkavaara.
According to Vaara, Hiukka Piha is a large cultural center, and therefore it seemed natural to organize the event right there. Possibly, Hiukkafest is also gradually taking shape as a tradition.
– It looks bad. Of course that would be the intention, Vaara says.
Plans for the upcoming festival are already underway, but Vaara will not say more about them at this stage.
– We will reveal more in the spring. Let the two-day duration be enough of a revelation at this point, he smiles.
