Kangasala to become a city of events – up to €50 000 grant for organisers

Last summer, Kangasala, known for its love of horses, organised the theme week Laukkaa Kangasalle, which culminated in the Horse Carnival at Pikkola.

The new Large Event Grant is intended for associations, cooperatives, foundations and companies whose planned event is located in Kangasa.

A new grant for major events has been launched for Kangasa. The grant amounts to between €10 000 and €50 000. The application is currently open and ongoing. Applications will be processed in the order in which they are received and decided by the Welfare Committee.

The Large Event Grant is intended for associations, cooperatives, foundations and companies whose planned event is located in Kangasa. The grant may be awarded to one or more organisers.

The aim of the major event grants is to enable Kangasala to organise events of interest to different target groups, which, among other things, promote tourism and business activities, create a positive urban image and increase the attractiveness and charm of the city.

Kangasala wants to become a city of events

Event coordinator Jasmine Pajari says that they want to make Kangasala a city of events and with the large event grant, the city is ready to invest even harder in this.

– Now we are looking for new, even bolder ideas, Pajari describes. According to the feedback received from the townspeople, various music events and festivals are interesting. Perhaps surprisingly, the hopes also include events where the audience can participate and move themselves.

Pajari thinks that the proximity to Tampere is an advantage. The purpose is not to compete, but rather to expand the range of events.

A cooperation agreement between the city and the operator will be drawn up with the recipients of the major event grant. Part of the grant can be paid in advance under the conditions specified in the cooperation agreement.

– So the event does not have to be organized this year, but you can apply for support for next year’s event, Pajari elaborates.

The expectation is that more and more event organizers would activate Kangasa.

– Now, if ever, it’s worth coming up with ideas and trying out the possibilities of your own event idea.
