Kajaani Art Museum turns 30 this year.

The exhibition is a cross-section of the journey taken together by the artist couple Anna Alapuro and Ilkka Väät.

The exhibition is a cross-section of the journey the artists have taken together. The artists got to know each other while studying at the Lahti Art School in 1976-1979. Numerous joint and separate trips and residencies both at home and abroad have brought new ideas to the visual world.

The artists have previously held three smaller joint exhibitions. At the Kajaani Art Museum, each decade has its own room where the works of two artists can be discussed.

Alapuro is a graphic artist whose subjects and patterns are often derived from everyday objects, buildings and landscapes. With roots in Hyrynsalmi, Vääti’s output consists of paintings, architectural drawings and graphic art.
