The slopes of Paljakka will not open at all this winter.
The businesses of the Paljakka ski slopes and rental centre, the Paljakka Caravan area and the Bistro and Riekko restaurants have been sold to Mäkinäköala oy.
North Finlandia Travels, which previously owned the operations, went bankrupt at the end of last year.
During the past winter, Paljaka has been quieter when the slopes have not been open. There has also been feedback.
– Yes, it came to all entrepreneurs and those operating in the area. It was quite sad, says Jutta Haapala.
However, the quiet time is going to be used to advantage in Paljaka.
– Now let’s start improving all our services here a little and also the facilities. Our aim is to make Paljaka a place for the whole family, so that even children have something to do and have fun, says Haapala.
