The music festival is expected to draw another large crowd to Niemi Harbour.
Lahti gives tens of thousands of euros to pop and rap event Headland.
On Monday, the vitality and employment section decided to grant €30 000 towards the production costs of the event. The grant will be awarded to Ilo ja Vimma Oy, the organiser of the event, which will use the aid to cover the cost of renting the site, traffic arrangements, noise measurements, electricity and public order.
The Headland music festival will be in Lahti’s Niemi Harbour for the third time next summer. The festival will take place on the last weekend of July 28-29.
The organizers expect around 14,000 visitors to the event. It is estimated that Headland will bring at least one million euros in money to the Lahti region.
