The night trains to Kemijärvi for the coming weekend are already sold out. There is still space available for Rovaniemi and Kolari.
The skiing season is the high season for overnight rail travel. This year, demand for overnight train travel and car parking has increased even more than last year, says VR.
It says in a press release that the most popular day for travelling during the ski holiday season is Friday 17.2.Several of the most popular departures on overnight trains to Lapland are already sold out. According to the company, there is still room on the night trains to Rovaniemi and Kolari in the north for the coming weekend, but all trains to Kemijärvi are already sold out.
On the return southbound service next weekend, Kolari trains will be full, but you can still book tickets for the night train southbound from Kemijärvi or Rovaniemi.
According to VR, there is still plenty of choice on night trains as well, if you book the trip at a less popular time.
