Lahti’s Paavolan Citymarket employee Taina Nipuli participated in the trade strike on Thursday.

The strike in the trade sector silenced Paavola’s Citymarket in Lahti. Taina Nipuli, a seller who was on strike, says that the reason for the strike is simply money.

A few customers shopped at Lahti’s Paavolan Citymarket a little after nine o’clock. There were two cash registers open in the Market.

– Most of the employees in the trade sector are part-time. At \\Paavolan Citymarket\\ we \u200b\u200bhave one full-time employee, says Nipuli.

Nipuli also does a part-time work week. Approximately 31 working hours are accumulated per week. The reason for the strike is simply money.

– I have about 1,500 euros per month left over from my salary. In a good month, 1,600 euros. It would be nice to get such a salary that you wouldn’t have to count every bite and something would be saved, says Nipuli.

– Often the justification is that more pairs of hands are needed. With a good working time arrangement, it would be possible to get full hours, says Immonen.

PAM’s employees are demanding a 200 euro salary increase to a month’s full-time salary in the collective agreement negotiations.
