Lahti is building a million-euro noise wall in Kivimaa

The goal is to calm the grounds of the multipurpose building and the school from loud traffic noises.

In Lahti, in Kivimaa, construction of a new noise barrier will begin in the spring. The city will purchase a 300-meter-long noise barrier along Lahdenkatu for one million euros from Destia.

The wall softens traffic sounds and improves the comfort of the grounds of Kivimaa school and multipurpose hall Aartee.

The majority of the noise barrier is concrete, and there will be three artworks made of graphic concrete. The noise barrier will also have transparent parts.

The Lahdenkatu noise barrier is scheduled to be ready in September.
