In Lahti, the bad winter hobby opportunities for skateboarders were solved – take a look at what the atmosphere is like in the parking garage

The idea of \u200b\u200boffering shifts came from the shopping center. In the past, the security guards had to drive young people away from the cars.

In several cities, skateboarders have to put their hobby on winter rolls when snow and ice cover the ground and skate ramps. Also in Lahti, enthusiasts have previously had to wait for spring or seek forbidden indoor spaces.

Now skateboarders can train every Friday during the spring indoors, in the parking garage of shopping center Trio.

Friday’s first shift gathered dozens of enthusiasts. In the video below, you can see the enthusiasts’ first impressions.

– After the bad weather came in the fall, there have been a few skateboarders in the hall. It has not been safe and we have had to turn them away.

When the Lahe skateboarders’ association heard about the possibility, shifts started to be planned in cooperation quickly.

Now the parking garage has a limited space for shifts, where there is no fear of getting hit by a car. There may also be more shifts after the spring, if it works out.

– We have exact rules. We expect good behavior and compliance with safety instructions, Kemppinen says.

In the video below, the representatives of the Lahti skateboarders’ association and the mother of a skateboarder tell how great the need for training facilities is.
