The travel trade fair traditionally started with the professional days, during which the general public cannot yet enter the trade fair area. During the professional days, the tourism operators of the North Savo region meet with foreign tour operators, to whom the region and its activities are made known. Matkamessut is the largest travel industry event in the Nordic countries, in which around 850 tour operators, travel destinations and travel service companies from almost 70 countries participate.
