At the digital clinic, help is available via the app in chat. There are many things you can get help with via chat, even from the comfort of your own home.
The digital clinic used in the Päijät-Haeme welfare area has not been able to reach as many customers as it had hoped. Currently, about 5 percent of contacts in the social welfare centres are made via the digital clinic’s chat, while the target is 13 percent.
In two years, the digital clinic has already expanded to eight municipalities in the Päijät-Häme welfare area. The digital clinic is now available in Asikkala, Hartola, Heinola, Hollola, Iitti, Kärkölä, Lahti and Padasjoki.
This spring, the Päijät- Häme Welfare Community Group will continue its work to make the service familiar to people.

When enough people find help through the chat, it also shortens waiting times in other health services, such as receptions at social welfare centers.

5 tips for using a digital clinic
Digiklinika’s service is implemented by Mehiläinen and therefore the service is part of Mehiläinen’s application. The Päijät-Häme wellness area business premises can be recognized by the blue color and the Päijät-Sote logos. If the transaction space is for private healthcare, the coloring is green.

If you are not sure whether the matter will be handled at the digital clinic, you can ask about it in the chat. In the chat, the nurse or doctor will talk with you and advise if the matter needs to be investigated at the reception.
In the digital clinic, at certain times, you can catch up with experts who have particular knowledge about oral health, mental health and addictions, as well as issues related to childhood diseases. These experts are not available around the clock, so check the channels’ opening times on the Päijät-Sote website, for example.
Through the chat, it is also possible to send photos to the doctor and nurse, which can be taken with a mobile phone. If the contact is related to a rash or moles, for example, a photo can tell the doctor more than just a description of the symptoms. You can take a picture in advance ready for the photo album and wait.
Most contacts at the digital clinic are made on Mondays and weekends. If your problem is not busy, you should go to the chat on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
