The new Karhuntassu presents Kuusamo in a fresh way: ‘We wanted to get out of the pot’, says Cultural Director Ulla Ingalasuo-Laaksonen
Kuusamo has brought its history and culture together under one roof. On Friday 13 January, Kuusamo’s new culture and tourism centre Karhuntassu will open.
One of the attractions of the centre is a 1971 Datsun 100A, where you can listen to Kuusamo music and reminisce about past rally tours of the village. The car has been restored to top condition by students from the Kuusamo branch of the Kainuu Vocational College.
The centre is full of history and stories from the distant past and recent history.
In addition to history, you can find information about tourism in Kuusamo, its history and present day at the Karhuntassu shop.
