Kuhmo Chamber Music’s artistic directors Minna Pensola and Antti Tikkanen will perform their own programme for the first time this summer

The title of Kuhmo Chamber Music 2023 “Roots and Wings” comes from the title of one of last summer’s concerts. Paasoja and Tikkanen say they felt the power of the pair of words when they envisioned the summer’s programming.

Their handprint can be seen in the range of genres, the number of guest composers, the number of premieres and the number of new performers.

However, traditional chamber music classics still form the core of the festival.

The festival starts on Sunday, July 9 and ends on Saturday, July 22. There are a total of 60 concerts and a hundred domestic and international musicians perform in them.

Kuhmo’s Chamber Music is Finland’s oldest and largest chamber music festival. The festival will be held for the 53rd time this coming summer.
