The most viewed of the year was Finland for immigrants.
The Kokkola City Theatre attracted more than 15 800 spectators last year.
This is almost 3 000 fewer visitors than in a normal year. For example, 2019 attracted almost 19 000 people to the theatre.
However, due to interest rate restrictions, the season could only really start in March.
The favorite of the performance year was the bilingual *Finska för invandrare* – *Finland for immigrants* realized with the Swedish Kaveri Kollektiv, which attracted more than 3,800 viewers with 46 performances in Finland and Sweden. The second premiere was a rare one: in November we saw a stage version of Charlie Chaplin’s *The Blue Knight*.
Among the productions on the main stage, *Koiramäki Suomen historia*, with 2,100 viewers, and the classic comedy *Siunattu Hulluus*, with 2,804 viewers, gathered the largest number of viewers.
9 different plays visited the theater during the year.
The spring of the city theater starts with the comedy monologue RockKari. It’s about a former rock great who still gets a chance for one last gig.
The performances of Pohjalaisiai, based on the classic play, have had to be canceled for production reasons.
