16 contestants have been selected for the semifinals from the preliminaries of Lappeenranta’s 20th national singing competition.
12 women and four men made it to the next round.
The semifinals will be held today, Tuesday, and tomorrow, Wednesday, at Lappeenranta City Hall. The competition will be held on both days at 16:00 and 19:30.

The preliminaries took place over two days, and each of the 22 contestants performed a 15-minute long program including an oratorio and cantata aria, an opera or operetta aria, a free-choice song and a Finnish song in Finnish or Swedish.
Lappeenranta’s national singing contest ends with the selection of winners on Friday, January 6.
The competition has its own series for women and men. Female competitors may be no more than 30 years old and men no more than 32 years old.
