The internationally respected art museum was damaged in a fire in the summer of 2021, the arsonist of which has remained unclear. Now the building can be renovated.
In total, the renovation will cost four million euros, and the repair work will start already in the spring. It should be ready by the summer of 2024.
Located in the center of Pori, along the Kokemäenjoki, the art museum building was completed as a packing room in 1860. It was converted into an art museum at the end of the 1970s. The museum specializes in contemporary art and has a large collection of valuable works of art.
