On Sunday, one year passed since the opening of Salla National Park.
During the first year, Metsähallitus’ Nature Services renovated the national park’s routes and rest stops thanks to the funding intended to establish them. During the summer and autumn, two day cabins and three sheds were completed, as well as renovations on two local routes.
The renovation work will continue this year as well. Metsähallitus’ plans include, among other things, the renovation of Pitkälammi’s sloop and the construction of a barrier-free sloop at Kolmiloukkone.
On the Pahakuru route, the extensions and terrain stairs are being renewed in a total of four destinations. In the national park, signage and signage will also be improved and added this year.
