Contractor files for bankruptcy of Lahti Concert Hall housing company
The company responsible for the renovation of the facade of the property has debts of around a quarter of a million. A bankruptcy petition was filed with the District Court of Southwest Finland on Friday.
A bankruptcy petition is filed against the housing company that is to be built next to the Lahti Concert Hall. The bankruptcy petition was filed to the District Court of Southwest Finland last Friday by Tupocon oy, the construction company responsible for the renovation of the building’s facade.
– Initially, payments came in on time. Then the payments started to be delayed, and eventually the money stopped coming,” says Virtanen.
Tupocon suspended the renovation about two years ago. CEO Virtanen says the project was a major one for the company. Because of the write-downs on the uncollected money, Tupocon’s operating result has been barely in the black, according to Mr Virtanen.
Construction of the residential tower has been stopping for a long time.
