Mira Leinonen has been elected Rescue Director of Päijät-Häme

Mira Leinonen works as a rescue inspector at the Regional State Administrative Agency of Southern Finland.

A female rescue director is rare, but not the first in the rescue sector.

The regional government made its choice on Monday morning.

A woman rescue chief is rare, but Leinonen is not the first of her kind.

Leinonen now works as Head of Unit at the Regional State Administrative Agencies of Southern Finland in Tampere. He also has a long experience in contracting municipalities.

Leinonen is a M.Sc. In addition, he has Strategic Leadership Officer Development Program studies from the European Fire Brigade Association FUU, Netherlands, and management and organizational communications from the University of Tampere.

The rescue director had 22 applicants to meet the eligibility criteria.
