The family of a Sysmi-based film director has been “always” in the sack – a binge-drinking comedy with almost 100 000 admissions
100 Litres of Sahtia was a return to his roots for director Teemu Niki. The sawmill tradition runs in Niki’s family.
Nikki had come to ask if the film *100 litres of shahtia* could be shot in the shop.
The hairdresser’s exclamation continued, though:
– It’s not enough for anything!
It turned out that Sysmian weddings usually have 500 liters of saffron, says Nikki *Cultural Cocktail in Live *.
Calculated in the number of movie theaters, the novelty is already more popular than Niki’s previous films combined. Popularity is both a joy for the director and, on the other hand, quite a neutral thing.
– It’s my eighth movie. Even though I have always hoped for viewers, I have not made movies in a sense, Nikki says.
Sysmä and saw heart issues
Saht, or traditional Finnish unfiltered beer, is made in a really pie in the film. Sysmä and Sahti were selected as a place and subject for a reason.
Nikki is from Sysmä and the Saht has always been put in the Niki family. The scenes of the film have been filmed in Niki’s childhood landscapes and even in childhood home. In many ways, the film is a personal hat for the director for local culture.
– My cousin can buy wort and the big brother makes Christmas eights. That culture has always been in our family and in Sysmä, in fact, an important part of it, Nikki says.
In addition to the places, Niki’s family members and events are reflected in the personalities.
For example, in the movie, the wedding is wrestling in exactly the same place where Nikki once testified to wrestling at his cousin’s wedding.
At the same time, the film about alcohol was also a great risk. Humping has often been a recipe for a hit movie, which is evidenced by the *class meeting *movies and American *terrible Kankkunen *movie series.
– I found it awkward to start doing so -called drinking comedy. I also wanted another angle, Nikki says.
* 100 liters of saffron* deals with drinking not only for fun but also as a problem. Still, the subject itself is not particularly fresh, even though two women are now the main characters.
– Women have been drinking in a Finnish film before, says Nikki.
According to Niki, it is a form of Western, where instead of gold, the prize is more Finnish: non -filtered beer.
