Long meltwater season is a nuisance for cold-water fish

For nature, an early melting of ice is not necessarily a good thing.

If the summer becomes warm, or even the so -called normal summer, the lake waters will heat up deeper than usual. Salmon fish such as mummy, trout, arid and bark are more successful in cold waters.

According to Halme, the early departure of the ice shows the fast -paced progress of climate change. He would no longer be able to argue about the existence of climate change.

– We find people over and over again who say that there is no such thing. It is a common view in the field of so many science that it is true. Yes it exists.

For example, the shell has disappeared from some southern Finnish lakes. However, Halme admits that things are not unambiguous, but that, for example, drainage of marshes has its own impact on the success of fish species.

– For example, Muiku has worse breeding conditions in Päijänne, and it already challenges that situation.
