YLE’s long-time journalist Eila-Maija Mirolybov is dead

Born in 1943, Eila-Maija Mirolybov was 81 when she died.
Mirolybov was a long -term journalist for the Finnish Broadcasting Company. He retired from Yle in 2003.
Television news spectators remember Eila-Maija Mirolybov, especially as a knowledgeable, soft-voice cultural journalist. He loved all culture, but especially opera music and theater.
He also knew French and was interested in French culture.
For decades, Mirolybov announced a cultural viewpoint in the program in 2014.
This is how he told what the work was on TV news in the 1960s:
– Above all, an insane passion for that job. There were no hours worked there. It was done because it was rewarding and fun.
– People put themselves completely. It was the great spirit that made me feel good on TV news.
Eila-Maija Mirolybov’s special expertise was also the European royal families. He often explained television broadcasts of royalists, such as weddings and funerals.
Mirolybov was a member of the Helsinki Orthodox Church and was active in it. Orthodox religion and church traditions were always close to his heart.
Colleagues remember him as a warm and helpful person who liked to organize parties and events.
Mirolybov was also a very family -oriented person. Two children and grandchildren were close and important to him.
