A new wing of rooms will be built in Hotel Iso-Syötte. The first chairlift is also coming to Iso-Syötte.

The new rooms are expected to be completed in autumn 2026, after which the hotel will offer beds for a total of 350 guests.

Hotel Iso-Syöte plans to increase its accommodation capacity with a total of 23 new rooms.

The extension work is due to start immediately after Easter. The hotel will therefore be closed from 21 April to 6 June, after which it will resume normal operations.

The hotel will have a brand new wing of rooms, which will be built towards the ski slopes, where the first chairlift invested by the Iso-Syötte ski resort is currently under construction.

There are eleven suits and twelve other hotel rooms. The rooms are expected to be completed in the fall of 2026.

After the expansion, there are a total of 68 hotel rooms. When the 36 cottages owned by the hotel are included, there are 350 beds.

In January, Hotel Iso-Syöte and Ruka Safaris said that tourism companies would join their operations. At that time, Kuukasjärvi said that the merger is intended to respond to the growing tourist demand by strengthening the position and activities in the Northeastern and Southern Lapland area.

According to Kuukasjärvi, increasing accommodation capacity is a goal in both places, but this expansion was planned even before the merger. One of the impressive factors was the construction of a chair lift, as Kuukasjärvi sees that investments support each other.

– The demand has been quite nice now, so we have to answer it now. But this is our size, then we won’t come here at least on the hill, says Kuukasjärvi.
