A survey on large carnivores was launched in Kuhmo.

Early this year, the City of Kuhmo set up a working group on large carnivores to consider issues related to the region’s large carnivore policy. The working group is made up of representatives from each of the city council’s council groups and is tasked with preparing a position paper on large carnivores.

Huotari says that the group has consulted a wide range of experts during the year to help formulate its position. Now it is time for a survey of local residents.

– Through the survey, every municipal citizen now has the opportunity to participate and influence the formation of opinions related to large animals, Huotari states.

He says that the survey will be open over Epiphany, so that everyone who wants to will have time to answer it.

– I hope as many people as possible answer the survey. In this case, we gather a comprehensive material of opinions to support the work of the working group.

Even before the working group’s statement on big beasts is written, a discussion event open to everyone will be organized on February 4. The event is implemented as part of the ongoing \”Sustainable development for life in everyday actions\” project in Kuhmo.

Here you can access the survey.

*The topic can be discussed until 23:00 on December 20.*
