Nelonen Media requires adjustment to the rent of the Tahko Midsummer Festival area
The city has leased the event area to Tahko Spa, who leases it forward. The city is not satisfied with the company’s operations and intends to process the lease again.
There has been a dispute over the rental of Event Park, built in the Tahko tourist area. Nelonen Media Live, the organizer of Tahko Midsummer Festival, does not accept the rent increase in the area, which the company considers unreasonable.
Last November, the Kuopio City Board decided to rent an area of \u200b\u200bless than two hectares for Tahko Spa for EUR 6,500. The company is responsible for renting the area to the event organizer.
However, the lease between the city and Tahko SPA has not been concluded because Nelonen Media has made an appeal against the decision due to the rent increase. Nelonen Media presents the rent of the area directly from the city of Kuopio for the four Midsummer next to intermediaries.
The city has negotiated with both companies, but there has been no common view. Nelonen Media and Tahko Spa have not made an agreement on the organization of Tahko Midsummer Festival.
The city of Kuopio has stated that the city’s goals for leasing Event Park have not been achieved because the area has been leased on a business basis.
It is proposed to the City Structure Board that the rental decision be repealed and that the matter be re -prepared for preparation.
The aim of the city and Tahko players is to get as many visitors to Tahko as possible. The city built the Event Park partly with EU support to create the necessary conditions for events. The aim of the city is to organize events in the area at a reasonable cost and at a low threshold.
Tahko Midsummer’s Festival brings about 14,000 to 16,000 visitors every year. According to Nelonen Media Live, the regional economic impact of the event is approximately EUR 3 million, including accommodation, restaurants and movement.
