The Urban Environment Committee approved the preliminary agreement for the land sale.

The Lahti City Environment Committee has approved a preliminary agreement for the purchase of land for a Fazer confectionery factory in the Pippo-Kujala industrial area.

Fazer will pay around EUR 6.5 million for the approximately 34 hectares of land.

The plot consists of two parcels, the first of which will be available for construction from the beginning of October next year.

The city is committed to the pre-construction of the plot so that work will be completed on the latter block by the end of next year.

The final real estate transaction is to be made after Fazer has made the final investment decision on the construction of the confectionery factory.

Investments are needed, for example, in access roads. Previously, the city of Lahti has estimated that the development of the entire Pippo-Kujala business area will require an investment of more than 50 million euros in the next few years.
