Jorma Ratia, a political expert from Lahti, will not stand as a candidate again
Jorma Ratia says he has resigned from the chairmanship of the Finns’ council group due to disagreements.
– I’ll be 80 this year, so it’s time to leave these things to younger people,” says Ratia.
In Ratia’s view, politics has taken a turn for the worse.
– “Society, both here and elsewhere, has become embedded in a ‘social media culture’ where knowledge is not a burden,” says Ratia.
Ratia is currently chairing the Group and Farm Division and Vice Chairman of the City Board 2.
He has been authorized since 2009 and has represented the Finns before the Coalition Party.
Ratia resigned from the presidency of the Basic Finns’ council group recently. There are disagreements in the background.
– I thought I had no confidence to be all the way to the end. We had little disagreement throughout the year 2024.
Jorma Ratia’s plans were first reported by Southern Finland Sanomat.
