Pori is particularly attractive to Germans – international overnight stays set a record last year

The countries with the highest number of visitors were Germany, Sweden, Poland, Denmark, Spain, France and Latvia.

Pori set new records for tourism last year.

International tourists in particular have become increasingly interested in Pori. The number of nights spent by international tourists at registered accommodation establishments increased by 30% compared to the previous year.

In total, 334 000 nights were spent in Pori last year. In 2023, the number was more than 30 000 nights lower.

For the first time, in the history of Pori’s overnight statistics, Pori had more than 30,000 international registered overnight stays, while 36,700 of the overnight stays were measured.

Europeans are now travelling to Pori

Registered accommodation companies accounted for 74 % of all overnight stays and 26 % for unregistered (Airbnb and VRBO). The number of overnight stays exceeded the time preceding the corona pandemia.

Most of the stay was recorded in Germany, Sweden, Poland, Denmark, Spain, France and Latvia.

Tourism is an important source of income in Pori.
