A total of about 5,500 cruise guests are expected in Hamina and Kotka next summer.

Four international cruise ships will arrive in Kotka and Hamina next summer.

Cruise visits will begin in mid-June when a German Aidabella ship arrives with about 3,000 guests. The last international cruise ship of the season will visit the Kotka harbor in August.

In total, a total of about 5,500 cruise guests are expected in Hamina and Kotka during the summer. Ships include tourists from Germany, the United States, Australia and the Far and Middle East.

The corona pandemic and the unstable geopolitical situation and, consequently, the absence of St. Petersburg as a port and travel destination, have influenced international cruise traffic in the eastern Baltic Sea since 2020.

Cranston says that tourists’ interest in cruise ports in the Eastern Baltic Sea has increased.

– As the climate warms up, the pleasant weather of the Nordic countries attracts passengers. In addition, small cities are trendy, says Cranston.
