The City of Rovaniemi’s Urban Planning Committee has approved a street plan for Joulumaan Road in Joulupukuki Pajakylä. The renovation and extension of the road is scheduled to start in January.
On Tuesday, the City of Rovaniemi’s Urban Planning Committee approved the Joulumaan Road roof plan.
The Christmas road will be renovated, a light traffic route will be built alongside it, and the road will be extended westwards towards Santapark. The water and sewerage infrastructure will also be upgraded.
The Board aims to have construction work underway by January 2023, in the middle of the tourist season. However, Luiro expects the work to start with the construction of a new section of street further away from the hamlet, so as not to disrupt the busiest season of the year.
According to Luiro, the winter time is well suited for road construction because there is a good base there.
