More than 100,000 copies of Satu Rämö Dekkar were again sold – these were the best -selling books last year
Satu Rämö, who lives in Iceland, spaled book sales.
The sale of a printed book has been falling for a long time, but last year there was a turn for the better. Sales of fiction and children’s and youth literature increased. There was a rise in the sales of both bookstores and publishers.
Instead, sales of non -fiction continued to decline. There were almost 10 % of the decline in bookstores compared to the previous year.
The most significant sales growth in bookstores took place in foreign works and in them specifically in English. Their sales have increased rapidly for several consecutive years. In 2024, one in four of the books sold at bookstores was foreign.
As the popularity of audiobooks, the law is beginning to come up. Last year, listening to audiobooks increased, but there was only less than one percent of the rise in the sale of publishers. In the best years, growth has been in the order of 10 %. In any case, electronic publications will bring almost half of the euro sales of publishers.
