The goal of Metsähallitus and the city of Lieksa is to increase the number of visitors to the camping area.

In Lieksa, the Ruunaa camping area’s beach site plan has progressed to the proposal stage.

The goal of Metsähallitus and the city of Lieksa is to develop accommodation and tourism services and thus increase the recreational use of the area.

The area of \u200b\u200bthe Ranta station plan consists of three different planning objects. They are located in the areas of Ruunaa camping center, Kattilakoski and the eastern part of Siikajärvi. The delimitation of the eastern part of Siikajärvi has been changed from the draft stage so that the Natura area has been completely left out of the plan.

The areas are located almost entirely in the state-owned Ruunaa camping area. The areas of Kattilakoski and Siikajärvi are being developed with an emphasis on camping. They want to turn Neitikoski into Ruuna’s service and activity center.

With the site plan, Ruunaa is aiming for around 200,000 visitors annually by 2040.
